SEND Information
At Elton Church of England Primary School, we strive to provide inclusive opportunities and experiences for every child to achieve their potential, regardless of any label. Where there are barriers to learning, we endeavour to work with parents and carers to ensure that children feel happy and well-supported in school. In line with best practice, we offer a graduated approach to teaching children with SEND and actively seek out training opportunities. This includes working with our Link Practitioner from the LA on a half-termly basis, alongside support from external specialist teachers so that needs are met. On this page are our SEND policy, and our SEND Information Report.
On our weekly email, we also alert parents to courses, workshops and information that are available locally, and that we feel may support them. Examples of these are available under the "For Parents - Communication Station - Whole School" tab.
You can also find information and support from the following:
Cambridgeshire Local Offer (Cambridgeshire LA's support for children with SEND)
SENDIASS (SEND Information and Advice Services)
Pinpoint Cambridgeshire (A service supporting parents of children with additional needs or disabilities)
If your child has a disability or additional needs, and you are considering applying for a place at Elton, please contact us in advance so that we can discuss needs and if we would be in a position to support your child. As an old building, the school is not completely accessible, and does not have any extra spaces for breakout rooms or sensory areas, but we would be more than happy to show you what we are able to offer.
